IECEP NEGOR in partnership with the National Telecommunications Office-Region VII-Dumaguete City field office conducted a two day Basic Disaster Communications Seminar for the Bais City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) held on March 22-23, 2018 in Bais City.
This seminar is an initiative of the City Government of Bais under the leadership of Mayor Mercedes Teves Goñi, through its able Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office headed by Engr. Roseller A. Lubaton – the City Engineer and concurrent Officer-in-charge of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, and Emmylou Calumpang – the Research and Planning Officer of the DRRM Office.
Part of the two day seminar is the Restricted Land Mobile Operators Permit officially conducted by the National Telecommuncations Commission, Region VII, Negros Oriental Field Office headed by the Engr. Felipe A. Gumalo, Jr., ECE and asssited by Engr. Darren Melon, ECE.
Disaster Communications seminar is conducted by Engr. Bon Mark Uy, PECE, DV7 DSQ . The speaker is an alumnus of the World Bank Institute in its Natural Disaster Risk Reduction Management Program and a contributor of the NDRRMC’s Response cluster RETT Manual.
This Basic Disaser Communications Seminar includes topics in basic radio equipment parts, functions and antenna principles, ICT’s role in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Disaster Communications and Emergency Communications Principles, disaster communications structure in the Philippine setting.
